I love a good oversized jacket,

but I always get slightly apprehensive about styling one with an equally oversized pair of bottoms. On my smaller frame of 5'4, it gets so easy to fall into that unseemly trap of "swimming in your clothes."

For this look, although both top and bottom are oversized, I think I've managed to streamline the overall silhouette with the aid of these Stuart Weitzman boots. They're actually over the knee boots, but I love that they just look like sock boots when worn under trousers—not to mention that extra bit of warmth in the winter! As much as I love my flat footwear (and comfort), the thin heel and pointy toe is key here to elongate the full look.

Finding pants that cut off at the right length also makes a world of difference. My preference is for just above the ankle (the slimmest part of your leg), so these culottes were perfect. We all know I love a good long coat, but today I opted for a hip-length jacket so as to not add any more unnecessary weight to an already bulky outfit.

I'm going to keep this week's post short and sweet, but what are your thoughts on an oversized look and do you have a preference for a looser top or bottom? If I had to pick, I would definitely go for a roomier top ;)
