The Eternal Summer
If you asked me what my favourite season was 2 years ago, I would have said "autumn" without skipping a beat—wool coats, leather jackets, ankle boots, all essentials to most typical wardrobes. Lately though, I've found myself shying away from an old love for layering. Opting instead for easy slip-on's, open-toe sandals, and these modern gold pieces from Vimeria. Maybe it's all part of this minimalist trend that I've been halfheartedly following (I've still yet to clear out my closet). Despite all the rain and humidity Torontonians have had this summer (I'm writing this post in a sweatshirt while at the cottage), summer has decidedly moved into my heart.
Like eating melting ice cream outside, bike rides across the city, streaks of afternoon sunlight, the simmering heat but also glowing skin—there's something nostalgic about summer. Feeling like you're on summer vacation, even though those no longer exist (at least for me). I hope I can capture the essence of summer in the city, a different kind of summer eternal.
