I picked up this Anna Quan shirt
while thrifting in LA, back in April when we went down to the west coast area for Coachella. Honestly, I've bought so many white shirts over the years but most of them never felt as right. There was always something slightly off about the fit (too tapered at the waist) or material (just a little too stiff). The other issue is that most of them are just too sheer for everyday wear. This shirt however, checked off all of my criteria and I find myself only reaching for this particular white shirt amongst my many others.
To add some texture and interest to this otherwise plain look, I paired it with faux suede shorts and some fun accessories. I'm obsessed with these bauble earrings from Club Monaco and want a pair in almost every colour. This look I think, is my quintessential style—simple and classic, with some accessories to elevate the overall feel. I wore this outfit to brunch in Toronto's Distillery District last Sunday (hence the title of this post, despite my posting it on a Saturday) and this editing reflects the weather that day: moody with imminent rain.
I couldn't find this exact shirt online since it was thrifted, but here are some other plain white shirts I've been eyeing from a variety of price points: ASOS, Madewell, Everlane (my personal favourite), Go Silk, and Ralph Lauren
As a personal aside, we found a place! We'll be moving in at September's start and I'm now busy planning the redesign our bedroom (bye Ikea) in a valiant effort to procrastinate on actual packing.
