The Apartment Hunt

one-shoulder-top-portrait

Last week,

we found out we'd have to move out of our current condo of 1.5+ years. Since then, I've been scouring listings every free second I have. In a city oversaturated with apartments and condos, somehow there still feels like a shortage of suitable places. I'm looking even less forward to continuing this search into the September rush when students revisit the rental market, just-in-time for school.

It seems inevitable at this point that we'll have to part with some furniture pieces. Amongst the more functional, most likely my dresser. On the positive side, I'm looking at an opportunity to downsize and declutter. I could definitely do with some less "stuff". Maybe I'll finally pick up the famed Marie Kondo book. If I do, I'll be sure to report back in a later blog post about its claims to life-changing properties.

Also, I'm looking forward to higher ceilings and more sunlight wherever we end up. Hopefully my plants will have a better chance of surviving at the next place (although I also need to be better about watering them, oops... even succulents have died under my care). We'll see whether the real culprit is me or the lack of sunlight — will also report back on this.

about the look

Since this space is a fashion blog at its core, let me bring it back to the outfit. I styled this look for this past Saturday, when we went to view some units (like I said, every free second). When I saw this Club Monaco top, at first I debated its functionality in the summer weather  the same reason why I never bought any knit tank tops even though I love the look. Actually though, it came in very handy when we sat down for lunch and I asked the boyfriend if we could switch sides so that the air conditioning only blasted on the sleeved arm (!).

The best part is, I got it on sale and it's still on sale with all sizes left! I'll definitely be adding a few more one-shoulder tops to my summer collection. The way I see it, these are the new "off-the-shoulders" (also known as Bardot tops, something I learned while drafting this post) of this summer.

Last but not least, I have a new logo! Thanks to my lovely friend, Jenny ♡
